[Discussion] Screen not turning off properly while calling (Proximity sensor issue)

While calling, the screen won't turn off properly due to the Proximity sensor issue in Redmi Note 7 Pro. (You can check this by making a call and moving your phone within 5 cm away from your ear) This seems to be a software issue,as it happens only in calls. Even after 3 months of release, they haven't fixed this serious issue.

How many are facing this issue?

Possible solution for fixing proximity sensor issue during calls: Go to Settings » System app settings » Call settings » Incoming call settings » Disable Proximity Sensor and reboot device

After reboot, go back and enable Proximity Sensor and make a phonecall to see if the problem has been fixed.

Meanwhile you could also try this app which should be able to fix the proximity sensor issue » https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiledirection.proximitysensorreset

It's a common software problem that many users are facing on both lavender and violet devices. It will eventually be fixed. It has to do with the way the proximity sensor is calibrated.
