To start off, we need to do the basic things first. The device needs to be turned off followed by the removal of the sim tray. The sim tray does have a rubber coating that can protect the device from accidental splashes.

The back cover is glued to the body with strong adhesive so as to give a great resist\ance to water splashes. It can only be removed with the help of a heater, a suction cup, and a plastic paper or a plastic tool. Now we can see what’s inside. The back cover is made of corning gorilla glass 5 and is resistant to scratches and falls to a great extend.
The plastic cover covering the motherboard can be removed by removing all the screws. This plastic cover has a thin graphite thermal conductive film which gives better heat dissipation capability.
It also has the basic antennas suc\h a Wifi, GPS and also the ear speaker tracks. It is very strongly built-in for the best reception and thus further boosts the performance.
We can now detach the camera module completely. The device holds a Quad-camera setup arranged very symmetrical. It has a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP Ultra-wide sensor, 5MP Macrto sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Redmi has as usual given one of the best selfie cameras in this price segment. It holds a 16MP front camera with lots of AI capabilities to take excellent selfies as well as groupies.
Taking apart the motherboard, it is very much covered with thermal paste on all sides to increase heat dissipation so as to allow long time gaming without a performance drop. The motherboard also holds the 2+1 sim tray and the good old IR sensor.
The processor is covered with a stell plating. On removing it with any strong tool, we can now have a glimpse of the great Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G processor running on 8nm.
After taking the motherboard apart from the body, the middle body has the proximity sensor as well as the earpiece.
We can also see the massive Li-Ion polymer battery that makes the device a performance beast. It has a huge 5020mAh capacity and will make the device last of multiple days easily in a single charge.
Moving to the sub-board situated on the bottom, it is connected to the top motherboard with a flex cable. After removing the screws and unplugging the flex cable, the sub-board can be taken apart. The plastic cover protecting the board also has a ringer set and network antenna set.
Opening up the sub-board, we can see the 3.5mm headphone socket, Type-c charging pin, and the main microphone. One thing that should be noticed is that each of these ports is covered with a rubber coating so as to protect it from accidental splashes to a great extend. The p2i coating is a great feature of this device.
