HIGHLIGHTS

Redmi K30 is already in the works and this means the phone will launch very soon.
Redmi K30 is said to come with 5G support.

couple of weeks ago Xiaomi Global's General Manager announced that the Redmi K30 is already in the works and will be available for all very soon. As the name suggests the Redmi K30 is the successor to the popular Redmi K20 that launched some months ago. It is confirmed that the Redmi K30 will come with 5G support. However, there's no clarity on whether the K30 will launch in two variants -- 5G and non-5G -- or just one variant. A new report now confirms that the Redmi 5G phone aka the Redmi K30 will be powered by MediaTek processor. For now, there's no clarity which chip will run the smartphone.

Xiaomi recently launched another MediaTek chip powered smartphone aka the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The latest Note from Redmi has been in the news for quite some time now and it is mostly due to the MediaTek Helio G90T processor that runs the Note 8 Pro. Consumers criticized the Redmi Note 8 Pro when they heard that Xiaomi is opting for a MediaTek processor for the smartphone and not a Snapdragon chip.

We at India Today Tech recently reviewed the Redmi Note 8 Pro and believe that the MediaTek G90T offers lag-free performance and also handles multitasking very well.

"In my time spent with the Redmi Note 8 Pro, I found that the smartphone offers smooth performance. The phone is good at multi-tasking. I used the smartphone as my primary device. In other words, I watched videos, used several applications at the same time like Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, WhatsApp and others, played games, browsed the internet and so on. At no point the Redmi Note 8 Pro lagged or showed signs of stutters. I played graphic heavy games like PUBG and Asphalt 9 on the Redmi Note 8 Pro and both worked pretty smoothly on the smartphone. Here I must mention that the smartphone sometimes - during long PUBG sessions - gets slightly warm." This is what we said in the full review about the performance of the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
As of now, we aren't aware of the MediaTek processor that will run the Redmi K30. Xiaomi may reveal these specification details soon -- as and when the launch date nears.

For now, there is no information about the launch timeline of the Redmi K30. Considering Xiaomi has confirmed the smartphone we expect the Redmi K30 to launch very soon. The specific launch timeline of the Redmi K30 is yet to be revealed by the company. We believe that Redmi K30 will make it to India whenever it launches as it is an important market for the company.
