How to enable 4K on Youtube App? - Mi TV - Mi Community

Hi,

I installed Youtube through Aptoide TV and I can see that maximum resoolution of the videos is 1080p not 4K.

How can I enable 4K on Youtube on Patchwall OS?

Please help.

In most Android/Smart TV's this issue exists, and youtube for Android TV app have limitations. For some of the TV's, it will be 720p only.

Yeah.. TCL TV supports it but this doesn't. I want to find a way where I can just remove patchwall and Install the android os nougat on this.

You can't and in fact nobody can enable 4k YouTube on this junk your only option is to buy a streaming box

There seems to be an issue with Patchwall running at a lower resolution, thus reporting it incorrectly to the apps. Also, the VP9 codec support seems to be lacking, which is required for 4k streaming. Both these issues can be fixed by a software update though. We'll have to wait for Xiaomi to push updates.
