Flipkart is selling the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro for as low as Rs 649 as part of its Big Shopping Days promotional sales event. The e-commerce giant also seems to be pretty well stocked with Xiaomi's phone, which is a welcome relief for buyers, considering how difficult it is to get your hands on one. Even though Flipkart seems to have sufficient stock, you probably won't be able to buy the Redmi Note 5 Pro for as low as Rs 649. Because there's a big catch here. One that could potentially stop you from giving in to the temptation. The Redmi Note 5 Pro starts at Rs 14,999 for the base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version while the top-end version with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs 16,999. Both the versions are now available for buying on Flipkart, and as part of the e-commerce giant's Big Shopping Days promotional sales event, you can buy the base version for as low as Rs 649 and the top-end version for as low as Rs 2,649.Getting to that hefty discount is a two-step process. A) You need another smartphone for exchange, B) You need an SBI credit card. Flipkart is offering up to Rs 12,850 on exchange and a 10 per cent instant discount on SBI credit cards. Potential buyers need to meet both the criterias in order to avail the maximum discount. But even then, you can't guarantee yourself a Redmi Note 5 Pro for Rs 649.You need to exchange a particular phone in order to be eligible for Rs 12,850 discount. You can't get it by exchanging an iPhone 6S or even the latest Google Pixel 2. You can't get it by exchanging a Xiaomi Mi 5 either. Only exchanging the OnePlus 5T will give you Rs 12,850 discount, seemingly suggesting its popularity vis-a-vis resale value. I won't say that exchanging your OnePlus 5T in return for a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a good idea, but there can be some buyers looking to invest in Xiaomi's unicorn of a phone that is the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which is probably why Flipkart has this whole thing going on in the first place. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is a fantastic phone by the way even at its actual retail price. But so is the OnePlus 5T.That is the reason why even though Flipkart is offering the Redmi Note 5 Pro for as low as Rs 649, you probably won't be able to make good use if it. But that doesn't mean the end of the road. You can probably exchange your old Redmi Note 4 and get Rs 3,600 off on the Redmi Note 5 Pro and should you have an SBI credit card, then you will be able to avail an additional Rs 1,500 off bringing down the price of the phone from Rs 14,999 to Rs 9,899.The thing about a phone like the Redmi Note 5 Pro is that any discount will only make it all the more appealing. And because Flipkart seems to be well stocked -- at least for now -- chances are you will actually be able to buy one, without breaking a sweat. In short, Flipkart's Big Shopping Days promotional sales event is your best bet if you have been looking to buy a Redmi Note 5 Pro for long. That is the biggest takeaway here and not the mouth-watering discount. Here is what we said about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in our full review:"The Redmi Note 5 Pro is a fabulous phone.
