Hi Mi Fans…!!!
Hope you all doing fine. I am here today with a teardown thread of the latest Redmi device, The Redmi Go. The device is an excellent low budget device with lots of features at this price. It is the best choice of device a user moving from a feature phone.

Redmi Go Specification :

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Processor
  • 1 GB RAM | 8 GB ROM | Expandable Up to 128 GB
  • 12.7 cm (5.0 inch) HD Display
  • 8MP Rear Camera | 5MP Front Camera
  • 3000 mAh Li-Polymer Battery
  • Android Oreo 8.1 Operating system

The device is packed with very appreciable specification at this price point and the main speciality of the device is that the device runs on the Android Go operation system which a new variant of operating system developed by Google.

So let's get started...

As usual, we start the teardown with the device shutdown. The power off button is at the right side of the device which assures good quality as well.

Then we remove the SD card as well as the dual sim tray from the device. This is one of the important things one should do before the teardown. The device has a dedicated SD card slot which can be used to read expandable memory of about 256GB.

The back panel is connected to the body of the device by adhesives and there are no screws on the outside. It is better to heat the sides with a heat blower for the adhesive to weaken and then use the spudger tool to open the back from one side.

The back side of the panel is plastic and is of satisfactory quality depending on the price of the device. It also has a camera hole for the rear camera and the panel is very flexible and can sustain descend strain.

As mentioned about the back panel, external volume buttons are also present in the panel. It is also made of plastic but offers decent quality as well.

The device is held together by 14 screws on different sides with two of them with water indicators. Each of these screws is removed and then sorted separately.

After removing the screws the bracket on the top which covers the motherboard and other things can now be detached from the body. We can see the wifi and GPS antenna and its connectors to the main board.

The battery connecting ribbon cable is detached from the board. It is always recommended to do this before any other part are detached for one's own safety as well as the device safety.

Now the bottom bracket which protects the charging circuit and sub-board is detached. It also contains the ringer and the network antenna set.

The bracket has the ringer and the antenna lines. It is connected to the sub-board directly as the GPS antennas and is connected to the main board with the help of a thin braided cable.

Now the battery is detached by means of two adhesive tapes on each side. These pull tabs which are used to remove the battery without damaging it. The battery is a 3000mAh one which offers decent battery backup

.
As the battery is removed, we can see the LCD connector cable as well as the sub-board connector cable glued to the body of the device.

The 8MP rear cam can now be removed from the motherboard with just an unclip of the ribbon cable. It offers 1080p video recording and different scenes and filters.

After removing the upper bracket, we can take out the whole motherboard. We can see the 3.5mm headphone jack, proximity sensor, 5MP front camera and Sim & SD card slots.

The front 5MP cam can be detached from the motherboard, it offers satisfactory cam and great features which is unbelievable at this price point.

Turning over the motherboard, the other side consists of the processor the memory and other important parts. The device is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 processor running on 28nm. It has Quad-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 architecture. It gives excellent performance on the android go operating system

The sub-board at the bottom has the Micro USB charging pin and the primary Mic used for calling. Since the charging port is a separate board it can be replaced easily at a cheaper price in case of any damage.

So that's it for today friends… hope you like the teardown.
