Dear Mi Fans,
Recently Xiaomi have launched Redmi 4 with Snapdragon 435 which is an upgrade from the previous version Snapdragon 430. Today we can have a look what upgrade does it have from Qualcomm Snapdragon 430. Is Snapdragon 435 really an upgrade from Snapdragon 430? Lets find out.
Qualcomm snapdragon 425 is a SoC (System on Chip) made by Qualcomm and is intended for entry-level smartphone devices. The SoC is aimed at refining Snapdragon 430 which has already been released.Xiaomi is the 2nd vendor to use this SoC on its device.Snapdragon 435 processor integrates X9 LTE with support for Cat 7 downlink speeds, up to 300 Mbps, and Cat 13 uplink speeds, up to 150 Mbps. With dual ISP and Adreno 505 GPU integration, the Snapdragon 435 supports rich, high-quality camera images and stunning graphics with optimum speed and power efficiency.
ARM Cortex-A53 Cores
Snapdragon 435 using ARM cortex-A53 base 8 core with maximum speed of 1.4 GHz.It runs on LPDDR3 800 MHz, multitasking will feel fast from the
Snapdragon 430.The ARM Cortex-A53 Cores processor offers a balance between performance and power-efficiency. Cortex-A53 is capable of seamlessly supporting 32-bit and 64-bit instruction sets. It makes use of a highly efficient 8-stage in-order pipeline enhanced with advanced fetch and data access techniques for performance. It fits in a power and area footprint suitable for entry-level smartphones. It also can deliver high aggregate performance in scalable enterprise systems via high core density, which accounts for its popularity in basestation and networking designs
X9 LTE Modem
The X9 LTE Modem supports Cat LTE. 7 with download speeds up to 300 Mbps, and upload up to 100 Mbps. Supports Carrier Aggregation up to 2 Different Frequencies and of course supports LTE-A and supports Up to 3x the LTE upload speeds of most LTE devices - up to 150 Mbps, and advanced Wi-Fi with MU-MIMO - for super-fast sharing of high res photos and videos
Adreno 505 GPU
The Qualcomm Adreno 505 is a mobile graphics card for mid-range smartphones and tablets (mostly Android based). It is included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoCs and based on the Adreno 500 architecture. The GPU supports modern standards like Vulkan 1.0, OpenGL ES 3.1 + AE, OpenCL 2.0 and DirectX 11.1.The GPU supports Universal Bandwidth Compression (UBWC) to save memory bandwidth. In short Adreno 505 brings a more realistic 3D gaming experience with less power
Supports dual ISP (Image Sensor Processor) for good image processing, besides this ISP also has support ability Rapid-Shoot with 16 MP resolution with zero shutter lag.It supports a smooth 1080p user interface with 60 frames per-second, dual ISPs enabling 21 megapixel photos and advanced features like hybrid autofocus and is a leader in image quality in this tier.
Screen Support up to Full HD and with Qualcomm® EcoPix ™ and Qualcomm® TruPallete ™ cameras make the screen brighter
Quick Charge 3.0
Quick Charge 3.0 is engineered to refuel devices up to four times faster than conventional charging. It is designed to charge twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and to be 38 percent more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0. Now consumers can spend even less time charging, and can grab and go more quickly.Charging faster with Quick Charge 3.0 support, with up to 18 Watt maximum power.
