Hello, Mi Fans!
Smartphones have changed massively in the intervening decade, presented us new wings and direction for our creative arsenal, one of them is smartphone photography. Not only that, but it has given us visionary evolution and compactness beyond our imagination, dual camera photography technology is one of that and Mi A1 has been one prime practical example.

To sharpen the saw of your photography, here we are presenting you the curated list of photography tutorials. Push the boundaries of your processes, take time to look from new angles and most importantly try new things, and if you are successful capturing your imagination, don’t feel shy to show us here: Xiaomi photography challenge - snap, post & win BIG!

1. The rule of thirds: Golden ratio of photography
Perhaps the most well-known rule of photographic composition -“Rule of Thirds”, is one of the first things that budding digital photographers learn about and rightly so as it is the basis for well balanced and interesting shots. However when we talk about imagination there are no rules and some are meant to be broken. Ignoring this one doesn’t mean your images are necessarily unbalanced or uninteresting. However as wise person once told - if you intend to break a rule you should always learn it first to make sure your breaking of it is all the more effective. https://in.c.mi.com/thread-150490-1-0.html

2. White balance: The secret ingredient of perfect photography
Ever wondered why your subjects turn out yellow when photographing them in indoor environments? Or why your camera flash can make them appear blue? Thoroughly understanding the concept of white balance and how it works is very important in digital photography, because setting it incorrectly could ruin a great picture, adding all kinds of unwanted color casts and causing skin tones to look very unnatural. Let us make you know a thing or more about white balance in this article: https://in.c.mi.com/thread-189801-1-0.html

3. Understanding Depth of Field (DoF): In & out
A camera can only focus certain area. Rest of it goes out of focus or blurred. It can be the area before the focus point or after it. This area is known as depth of field and it changes if we change the aperture or focal length of the lens. The two terms that are used to define depth of field are: Shallow and Deep. https://in.c.mi.com/thread-363898-1-0.html

4. HDR mode: When to use it & where to use it
HDR, as its name implies, is a method that aims to add more "dynamic range" to photographs, Where dynamic range is the ratio of light to dark in a photograph. Instead of just taking one photo, HDR uses three photos, taken at different exposures. You can then use image editing software to put those three images together and highlight the best parts of each photo. In the case of HDR on smartphones, your phone does all the work for you just snap your picture and it'll spit out one regular photo and one HDR photo. The result is something that should look more like what your eyes see, rather than what your camera sees: https://in.c.mi.com/thread-422022-1-0.html

5. Capture shots with dark background: Make your subject pop
Ever saw a pic with dark background and wondered how do they do it? The answer is ISO. in this tutorial learn how to change the ISO in manual mode and make your subject pop, learn more about in the below thread: https://in.c.mi.com/thread-524507-1-0.html

6. Learn more about silhouette photography
A perfect silhouette is an image that has your subject completely dark and your background exposed, thus creating a perfect silhouette. You'll need the background to be brighter than your subject and to get that the key is to shoot early or late in the day to capture the clear silhouette.
Follow this thread to know more about: https://in.c.mi.com/thread-97582-1-0.html

7. Amazing backgrounds: How to use them effectively
Although, Mi A1 comes with a dedicated hardware setup to create the bokeh effect intelligently to keep the subject in center and spotlight, there are many elements which creates a perfect background, know more about it here: https://in.c.mi.com/thread-268575-1-0.html

8. How to shoot light trails?
Light trails are a colourful and kind of creative effects that photographers capture by applying long-exposure shooting techniques on their camera. Now you will be thinking what is this long-exposure right? Let me explain it first- Exposure is basically the amount of light you let into your film, you can adjust this by adjusting the aperture on your device, learn more about how you can play with this setting and obtain breathtaking photos: https://in.c.mi.com/thread-260211-1-0.html

9. High shutter speed photography: Capture the speed
High Shutter Speed Photography captures moving objects without the motion blur like water drops and sports photography. There are two ways to do high speed photography: 1. fast shutter speed. 2. flash duration: shot with a flash. High shutter speed photography needs good lighting conditions. If you try it in low light, it’ll not work. It needs to be done on a bright sunny day outside. Curious to know more, follow the thread here: https://in.c.mi.com/thread-193113-1-0.html
