Hello Mi Fans,

Welcome to Redmi Note section. It is highly recommended to go through rules and regulations about posting threads to this section.

As a kick starter, Mi Community Rules and Guidelines will make you aware of some General Mi Community rules before you proceed with posting threads.

1. Browse before posting a thread
Please go through different sections of Redmi Note sub forum before posting a new thread. It would be great if you come across a thread similar to your own query and you get an immediate answer. Moreover this would also prevent duplication of threads.

2. English as common Language
Although India has diversity in languages, we on Mi Community use only English as a language of expression. If you are desperate to share your own thoughts, occasionally in other language, please provide English translation of the same. Untranslated replies/posts will be deleted on sight.

3. No spamming
Spamming means posting a same reply repeatedly in the thread or another thread. It can also be posting same thread with same content many a times in same section/ different section of a sub-forum/different sub-forums as well.  An irrelevant reply is also considered as a spam. We believe in keeping our forum free from redundant and unwanted content.

4. No off-topic reply
Replies with content unrelated to thread will be deleted at sight (Such replies won’t be entertained). For e.g. asking 'When will be the XYZ Mi Phone launch?’ in this thread will be considered as an off topic reply. Do not b** moderators for deleting your replies without any reason, as you have been warned in this thread itself.

5. No Nudity, Profanity, Racism and Swear
Any sort of Nudity and/or Profanity, Racism, Swear words is not allowed and if any user indulges in usage of such content, a strict action will be taken against him/her.

6. Clear and meaningful thread title
Title of a thread gives us a glimpse of its content. An appropriate thread title will draw more attention of users and if it’s a query then it will be easily address by any moderator. We don’t want threads with title “Redmi Note good” or “Redmi Note MIUI” which hardly conveys any meaning to the reader.

7. Sufficient content in a thread
A one-liner thread is as good as spam except you are putting up a question. Sufficient content in a thread will make it informative and readable.  If you are putting up a review or a tutorial please provide enough content to make your thread a ready reference for others.

8. Don't ask for ratings
Please do not ask to Rate or Support your reply / thread in PM as well as don’t even mention in your post / thread. You will be PM/replied by a moderator to remove it. If you are not removing the same, it will be deleted by a moderator.

9. Sales & advertisements
Forum is a platform to connect and express. We are not here to take it as an e-commerce platform and start selling our items here itself. Selling of the following is strictly prohibited on forum: 3rd party reseller links/ promoting other websites/selling F-codes/selling other products. Such threads/posts will be immediately deleted without a notice and a warning/ban will be issued to the user.

10. 3rd party links
Mi Community India forum doesn’t encourage any unofficial seller. Since unofficial resellers may sell fake products we do not promote their ads/links on forum. Only official selling Mi products can be promoted on this forum and such products have warranty cover. If any thread is found promoting unofficial links/ads it will be deleted at that very moment and a strict action will be taken against the author. A third party link is allowed only when any information/news/review is shared on this forum by providing source for the same.

11. No Leaks!
Sharing external links to official Xiaomi files (full ROMs or OTA zips, stable or beta builds) will be considered as a ‘LEAK’. The author will be dealt very SERIOUSLY and accordingly!

If a user has been issued 3 warnings and still neglects the rules then he/she would be 'BANNED'
If you have any doubts feel free to contact Redmi Note moderators @Timelord, @PawanRockZ or @shashankp1

We hope everyone will follow the rules and keep this community clean

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 recently showed on GFXBench running on Android OS with android 7.1.1 Nougat. So it seems that it will soon be getting Nougat update after all.

Redmi Note 3 that appeared on GFXBench was of 3GB RAM & 32GB ROM variant. This shows that manufacturer was testing it with Android Nougat but it does not specified the MIUI version.

Xiaomi had released the Marshmallow update customized with MIUI 8 skin for Redmi Note 3 users in December 2016. Hence, it is unlikely to release the newer software so soon to Redmi Note 3 users. Moreover, Xiaomi has also released Redmi Note 4 to succeed Redmi Note 3. If the company released Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Redmi Note 3, it is likely that its successor would be also treated with the latest flavor of Android.

In the past, the Xiaomi Mi 4c was spotted on a benchmarking site Android 7.0 Nougat. Some of the other Xiaomi smartphones that are rumored to receive Nougat update soon include Xiaomi Mi 4c, 4i 4s, Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s and Mi Mix. However, the Chinese company has not revealed any information on when will it be releasing Nougat update to its device.
