Hey Mi Fans,
Today we are going to discuss and learn how to use One Handed Operation (OHO) in MIUI.
In  the era of smartphones the demand of bigger screen is increasing as well as more storage and more RAM. But sometimes it hard to operate our phone single handedly. Actually this happens to me quite often while traveling in a bus or metro, one of my hands is occupied but still I need to use my phone. And to be frank it's quite a challenge to operate phones like Mi Max single handedly, but as always MIUI has a perfect solution for me or anybody whose hands are not big enough like mine. MIUI has brought us One-Handed Operation (OHO) mode for Mi Fans who faces difficulties while using their phones single-handedly.

What Is One-Handed Operation -
OHO helps reducing the display area size of Mi phones to 3.5 or 4 inch, so that your Mi phone can be operated single-handedly.

How to use One-Handed Operation?
  • Slide your thumb from physical "Home" button towards the left or right (sliding left or right will determine whether to shrink the screen area to the left or to the right).
  • You will be prompt whether you want to enter into "One-Handed" mode or not?

  • Tap on "OK" and your phone's screen size will be shrinked to 4 inch.

Still not happy with the shrinked screen? Don't worry, just tap on the gear icon beside the shrinked screen and you can change the screen size to 3.5 inch from the setting page.

How to turn OHO off?
  • To turn the mode off, do the same slide thumb gesture you did to turn it on and your screen will return to normal.
  • You can slide from left or right to the "Home" key to do the same.
  • Tapping on the darkened area of the screen also turns the mode off.
