About Manu Kumar Jain :

He was a co-founder of online fashion retailer Jabong, and has studied engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and management at the Indian Insitute of Management(IIM) Calcutta. After the highs of 2014, when Xiaomi entered India through massively hyped online flash sales, Jain has helped the Chinese smartphone maker settle down. Amid recent reports of a sales slowdown in China, India generated a lot of positive news. Mi phones were made available across e-commerce platforms and physical stores, the company launched a well-received fitness band.

Jain's promotion follows the exit of Hugo Barra from the company last month, who previously held the position of Global VP. Barra has since then announced plans of heading Oculus at Facebook back at Silicon Valley. Under the leadership of Jain, Xiaomi India flourished tremendously since its launch, with the company currently at the number one position for online smartphone sales in the country and carving a sizable slice of the pie even offline.
