The new product launch event has just ended yesterday, Xiaomi proudly announced the new Redmi device, Redmi 4A - the cheapest Redmi device ever. I believe every one is very excited about the launch of Redmi 4A in India ! The phone is pretty ultra light since its made of all plastic material and its pretty easy to carry around.The Redmi 4A sports a round edge, reminds me more of the Redmi 3 design.The phone is pretty easy to carry, being the 5 inches smartphone that it is, this is the perfect size for one handed use.
Hardware, Build and Design
The Redmi 4A is made up of a single polycarbonate material. The feel of the Redmi 4A is quite okay for a budget conscious person and it is the cheapest Redmi phone ever released by Xiaomi. The phone is pretty ultra light since its made of all plastic material and its pretty easy to carry around.There isn’t any Mi logo on the front side of the device. Speaker grille placement it’s still at the back same as the Redmi Note 3. The Redmi 4A sports a round edge, reminds me more of the Redmi note 3 design
The Redmi 4A sports round edges design and gently sloping sides to make it easy to grip on the hands. The front of the phone is dominated by the 5 inch display. The phone uses physical capacitive keys on the bottom of the HD panel for navigation just like all other Mi devices. . On the right side you’ll see the power and volume buttons, while on the left side the SIM slots is present. Sim slot 1 is micro sim, while sim card 2 can either be a nano sim or a micro SD Card.The top of the phone shows the 3.5mm audio jack as well as the IR blaster and the noise-cancellation mic. While at the bottom we can find the Micro USB port.
The phone is pretty easy to carry, being the 5 inch smartphone that it is, this is the perfect size for one handed use. The HD display is pretty good enough as a daily driver. The capacitive button does not lit up like the MI Series, but the notification light can be under the capacitive home button just like the Redmi 3 series. Above display sits the front 5-megapixel camera in on the right side with ambient light sensor and LED notification light is on the right. There os NO ‘Mi’ logo on front side.Below the display sits three capacitive-touch navigation keys (Recents/ Menu, Home and back) .The back has primary 13-megapixel camera With LED Flash . The Mi branding is right above the speakers grill located on the back bottom
The Redmi 4A main have Snapdragon 425's slower processor is slower to process task and multitask will be a bit slower. Although slower in processing, the SoC 425 sill preforms well for daily task like calls, text, messengers, social apps and online games. Its performance for multitasking is also average considering it has 4-cores ready to help you push those tasks to the finish line. This SoC supports LTE connection in CAT 4.
This model has the latest MIUI 8.0 based on Android 6.0.1.
Camera Interface:if you ever used the MIUI or Mi devices then you will be very familiar with its camera interface. the rear 13-megapixel camera captures good images . The camera is pretty above average for a phone of its price range. It took pretty decent photos under good light but a bit dark on dark spots..The front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel .
The Redmi 4A packs a 3120mAh non-removable battery which under normal usage of the phone, this unit can good on-screen time! it can surely last for a day on normal usage.
ConclusionOverall the Redmi 4A got great build and a premium design at very low price with 4G connectivity. Apart from being a smooth performer, it has a decent battery with long battery life.
