Qualcomm Company have arranged a special function labeled as "end of the year" in China, during the spring festivals this year. There were several interviews with great leaders of smartphone manufacturers in China. One of the interviewees was Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun who have given very interesting statements during his interview.
Interview with Lei Jun about the future of Xiaomi
Lei Jun have shared a summary of the goals reached by the company and the vision for the future. Lei Jun said that for his year, they would launch a multi-brand strategy. Lei Jun was refering to the two main brands Xiaomi and Redmi, as well as the 3 sub-brands of the company which are POCO, Mito, and BlackShark. Also Lei Jun said that all the brands belonging to the company would make outstanding products (not only Smartphones).
Speaking a bit about everything that Xiaomi had to go through during these 8 years, Lei Jun said “after eight years of entrepreneurship, Xiaomi has undergone many changes. Xiaomi has made many “impossible” in the business world. It emerged from a small company of just over 10 people to the fourth largest mobile phone brand in the world. At the same time, it has established the world’s largest IoT platform for the consumer”.
Also Lei Jun placed great emphasis on the fact that no matter how much the business grows, what will never change is the motive and the mission for which he created Xiaomi, that is, to make friends with the users. He said “We always insist on making a good product that is “move people and be nice“, so that everyone in the world can enjoy the wonderful life that technology brings”.
But this is not the only thing he said, he also made reference to the future saying “the current global mobile phone market is experiencing a period of low tide, which can continue with the large-scale marketing of 5G, and Xiaomi is ready to fight in a long-term battle“. Lei Jun said that they would continue to work hard to continue to bring high-quality products to the market and be friendly with the customer.
