Hello Mi Fans,
Redmi, an independent subbrand of Xiaomi just introduced the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India on 28th of February. It comes with 6.3" FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, it is powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 675 and Adreno 612 GPU, a 48MP Camera Beast with IMX586 Sony sensor, 13MP front camera, dot notch, and much more.
So in this thread, we will talk about Qualcomm® Adreno™ 612 GPU which is designed for the gaming experience.
What is Adreno?
Adreno is a series of the graphics processing unit (GPU) semiconductor intellectual property cores developed by Qualcomm and used in a variety of their SoCs. The core was initially developed under the Imageon brand name by ATI Technologies, which was acquired by AMD in 2006. After the buyout in January 2009, Qualcomm renamed the Imageon products to Adreno.
The Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 675 comes with Adreno™ 612 GPU. According to Qualcomm®, the Adreno™ 612 GPU will be able to offer a 20% boost performance compared to the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 670 SoC. In fact, a phone with the Snapdragon™ 675 can open games 30% faster and comes with 90% fewer janks (smoother rendering of frames). As the chipset is based on the 11nm LPP manufacturing process, it will also consume less power compared to the other chipsets based on 12nm FinFET, or 14nm FinFET manufacturing process.
In fact, the company closely collaborated with game developers to optimize the gaming performance on the Snapdragon™ 675 to get faster, smoother, and more cooling gaming performance. The company has also showcased a video which shows the PUBG game live-in-action, which re-affirms that the Snapdragon™ 675 will come with additional optimizations to offer smoother PUBG gameplay.
