I’m damn sure, pretty curious minds are reading this thread right now. Did you support the Mi bulb in crowdfunding? Or, might be you’re waiting to get it launched first. Alright, let it be but before getting your hands-on the very new Mi Smart LED Bulb you need to be clearer about it and no doubts should be left unanswered.
Here I'm with the answers to some of the frequently asked questions among Mi fans,

Q1. What is the base for the Mi LED Smart Bulb?
A1. The bulb comes with an E27 base. In case you have a B22holder/socket, please purchase a B22 to E27 converter to use the bulb. The converter does not come in the package. Not a big deal to get it from the yourlocal market.

Q2. How many colors does the Mi LED Smart Bulb to support?
A2. The bulb supports 16 million color options. The color change can be controlled with Mi Home App. Trying out all the colors would take a decade.

Q3. How do I connect/control the bulb with my phone?
A3. The bulb can be controlled remotely using the Mi HomeApp. Please refer this post about setting up the bulb for the first time.

Q4. Can I connect/control the Mi LED Smart Bulb Google Home and Alexa?
A4. Yes, the bulb works with Google assistant and Alexa. Please refer the video for instructions on how to set it up

Q5. Does the bulb work directly or needs a hub or bridge to function?
A5. There is no need for a bridge or a hub to control the bulb.

Q6. Is it possible to connect multiple bulbs with a single device?
A6. Yes, any number of bulbs can be connected to a single account on the Mi Home App.

Q7. How bright is the bulb?
A7. It is a 10W and 800 lumens LED

Q8. Can I connect the bulb with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?
A8. The bulb is Wi-Fi enabled. It supports Single Band 2.4Ghz frequency only.

Q9. Can I connect the bulb to an iPhone?
A9. Yes, the bulb can be controlled remotely using the MiHome App which is available on both Android and iOS.

Q10. Can I share controls to my family members?
A10. Yes, you’re free to share controls to as many family members or friends you want. Know more about sharing controls here.

Q11. I don’t have a Wi-Fi router at home, can I use mobile hotspot?
A11. Yes, you can use a dedicated mobile hotspot for configuring the bulb. But you can use the portable Jio-Fi router with ease.
