Thanks for sharing the issue in this forum. And look at the replies here! I had no idea that so many Xiaomi customers are dissatisfied. One thing I can tell you that the cheap or super-affordable phones that Xiaomi sells do have a risk associated with them; that risk is poor quality control. Companies like Xiaomi churns out so many phones in such a short time that it is practically impossible to maintain a reliable standard in every phone. They are not Samsung or Apple who have a gigantic infrastructure and a huge pile of money for quality control or R&D. Then there is the issue of providing after-sales service. Right now, Xiaomi just doesn't have it. Their profit for each phone is so less that they have to cut some corners to be able to sell these phones at these prices. Lack of quality control and non-existent after-sales support are such aspects that they skimp.
If you compare specification wise, a Samsung phone with the same specs will cost you 3000 to 5000 rupees more. Well, that is because Samsung maintains a tight quality control mechanism, and it has a very good after-sales support across India. All of these things add cost to the phone. If your Samsung phone is defective, take it to a Samsung service center and you are most likely to be getting a solution to the problem that your phone has. If an entire line of product is defective, Samsung has the resources to pull the entire product-line out from the market and relaunch or replace it later (e.g. Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy Fold). Xiaomi cannot do that. It does not have that infrastructure or resources to do that. It does not charge money from you for these things and so you get those phones much cheaper than other brands like Samsung.
I am not praising Samsung and slandering Xiaomi here. I've used Samsung as an example here to compare it to Xiaomi. If you compare Xiaomi to any other brand which provides better customer support and a higher price tag, you'll find the same thing. The bottom line is, if you are buying a cheaper phone, you are risking a few things. Poor quality product and absent customer-support are among those few things.
