Fingerprint Authentication Problem After Device Update - Chat - Mi Community

Hey Mi Fans,
Many users reported that fingerprint is not working on device, especially after updating the device. Here is a quick solution-

Reason Behind Fingerprint Not Working
All Users use Pattern , Pin Or Password Lock For Their Privacy. They find one thing that after update with new rom first time fingerprint is not working. There is nothing to worry about. It is necessary to give pattern, pin or password for the first time when you update or reboot your device. So this is not a problem of device ,it is normal behaviour.

What to do?
After update the device first time give your pattern, pin or password for unlock the phone.
You can then use fingerprint as normally as before.

Reason for this behavior

Because the fingerprint is only used for authentication, while the password is also used for encryption,
After update, Device need to get access to the full disk encryption.
But fingerprint is used for only unlock the screen (of an already "decrypted" device).
Fingerprint recognition does not meet the above requirements, So A Password , Pin or Pattern need to used.
