There’s no doubt that this is a large phone, but that is exactly what makes this appealing to so many buyers. The ability to watch movies and stream video on the large screen in the age of affordable mobile data is a big factor to buyers today, and the big battery and long-lasting screen time will appeal to buyers who use their phones heavily. With its strong price of Rs 16,999, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is essentially a big-screen, big-battery version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, and improvements in design, software and charging make it as current as it gets. Stay tuned for our review of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 for our complete impressions of the phone.

The second phablet from Xiaomi brings in an improved build with bigger battery
By Deccan Chronicles

Xiaomi has worked on the ergonomics of the Mi Max 2 to make it a handier smartphone than the previous generation model. For all the inquisitive geeks out there, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is no different from the Mi Max 1st-gen handset, apart from a better design and more powerful hardware. It sports a huge 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with a full HD resolution but has a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top, which also enhances the look of this phablet. As of now, we have seen that the viewing angles are decent and the screen renders natural colours. To keep that big display awake for longer periods of time, Xiaomi has stuffed an equally bigger 5300mAh battery, which claims to make the handset last two days on a single charge

Here comes the sleeker, curvier Mi Max 2
By Economic Times

The smartphone giant Xiaomi launched its latest big-screen smartphone Mi Max 2 in India today. The smartphone comes from the same series of Xiaomi Max phone that were launched last year in May. The Max 2 comes with a curved edge design and is better trimmed compared to its predecessors. The Mi Max 2 features a huge 6.44-inch full-HD display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The display is safe-guarded with a coating of cutting-edge Gorilla Glass 3. The device runs Android Nougat operating system based on the company's own MIUI.The smartphone offers 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. Max 2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with a clock speed of 2GHz paired with 4GB of RAM. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 can apparently offer 2X more talk-time than Nokia 3310
By India Today Tech

The Mi Max 2, just like last year's Mi Max, also looks very promising. But, at the end of the day, it's just another Redmi Note 4 clone -- in every sense of the word -- except that it has been made to order for people -- if any -- who like large-sized phablets. More or less, it shares all the plus and minus points of its younger (and more affordable) sibling. Yet there are also areas - rear camera and stereo speakers - where it outshines the Redmi Note 4. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version of the Mi Max 2 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 16,999 and considering that it is a niche segment device, some may say that it is expensive. If you're a multimedia junkie who loves to Netflix, or read e-books, or someone simply looking to replace your Android tablet with a full-functional phablet, the Mi Max 2 won't disappoint you.

For ₹16,999 if you want a large, powerful, sexy looking smartphone then, of course, Xiaomi's Mi Max 2 is for you. The 5,300 mAh battery is a cherry on the cake. Xiaomi has targeted a certain audience in India with the launch of their Mi Max 2. People who love large displays but not too large and those who want a big battery capacity albeit the bulkiness. The best thing about Brienne of Tarth is that she's straight forward, honourable, faithful and believes in the idea of knighthood. She defines badassery. Xiaomi's best things about their smartphones, culminate in this big, badass and unapologetic, Mi Max 2.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 First Impressions Review: Is Big Always Better?
By News18

At Rs 16,999 it's a phone that's sweetly placed between no other competitor. But increase your budget by Rs 1,000 or decrease it and you get plenty of options to choose from. In our opinion, the Mi MAx 2 is not a phone that can be your primary device. As a secondary device to make a hotspot, watch Netflix and play games, the Mi Max 2 will be your perfect companion. The form-factor that this phone offers is not offered in the market by many, but then carrying around a 6.44-inch monster in your pocket at times can just be ridiculous.
