1. Dial *#*#4636#*#* > Click on Phone information > Signal strength

-50 dBm to -70 dBm (Extremely good)

-70 dBm to -90 dBm (Normal)

-90 dBm to -110 dBm (Weak)

-113 dBm (Bad)

If the hardware performance test result is good, then there is not issue with the hardware part of your device. Hence, you will need to contact the network provider.

Also, in meanwhile, try searching the network manually

Settings > Sim card & mobile network > Select sim > Cellular Network > Turn off choose automatically > Manually choose preferred network
Try this....I got this reply Mi support

Initially it was rare  but now it occurs so frequently. It is a serious issue and Xiaomi should  resolve it

I've just got MI A1. Facing same issue. Almost 99% of time, the phone doesn't have any signals. Is there any official word about this issue? Any solution proposed?

Update:
Just have observed that, once I switch to 4G network, signals drop. If I switch to 3G or 2G network, I get full network signal. So the issue arises when we connect to 4G network.

No such issues here in my device.  May be there is network issues with your operator.  Try using other network Sim cards
