Nowadays days many people have smartphones. Nearly everybody is busy doing something in their smartphone like gaming, music, surfing on web, watching video. There is nothing more frustrating than your phone dying on just important moment of sending mail to someone, getting directions on maps, watching your favorite series, Texting someone; isn't it??
So I would like to share some tips and tricks by which you can extend your smartphones battery life!!
1) wifi and Bluetooth
The wifi and bluetooth keep searching for signals continuously if kept on. This leads to the consumption of power very much. So it is better to switch off wifi and bluetooth toggles when it is not required. When there is no use of network and calling you can also use airplane mode. This will definitely save a lot of your battery and it will last longer than usual
To save battery life, use still wallpapers
instead of live wallpapers. Live wallpaper keeps screen busy and reduces battery power.
Also the wallpaper which are black in colour and also the background in black colour must be preferred. This will reduce power consumption.
3) Turn off vibration
The vibration feature must be turned off if not very much necessary. The vibration consumes more power than just ringing. So one must put phone in silent mode to save battery
4) Limit the background apps
Any app that is running in the background is uses processing unit which consumes power. That means it’s draws electricity from the battery.
when we close an app we aren’t really exiting it and closing it out. It just sits there in the background, continuing to run, checking for signals, reaching servers, and other stuffs.
So for disabling apps you can go to setting> apps. It will pop out the list of apps in your system. Now go to running apps and click on it. Force stop that app and then disable it. This will make sure that the app is not restarted again.
5) Location services
Many apps nowadays requires location services like google maps, weather, various games and even the camera app. This apps draws battery power in search of location.
So you can just switch off all location services in the main setting menu. You can turn it on when you are in need of it.
6) Turn off auto sync
The default setting for smartphones is to continually check for email throughout the day. If you can restrict yourself to only
reading email once an hour, or ideally for longer, you will save a lot of battery. Set your phone to only download emails when asked, rather than allowing your phone to keep checking throughout the day.
7) Auto lock, timeout
You can reduce the screen timeout duration to low. The minimum duration is 15 sec.
Also the auto lock feature should be activated as soon as the screen time is out.
Obviously the sooner the phone sleeps, the more the battery power is saved.
8) Network mode
When not needed you should switch your network mode to GSM. This will help reduce much of the power consumption.
9) keeping the brightness of screen to low
Display of an smartphone is the die-hard battery consuming component. A smartphone with bigger display is likely to have low battery life. At this point, to save battery consumption for screen, you have to keep the brightness of the display as
low as possible.
You can also enable the auto brightness feature, so that it automatically sets brightness according to the environment.
At night while reading and watching videos you should set the lowest brightness of screen.
10) Root the android smartphone
One of the benefit of rooting the smartphone is to reduce the battery power consumption. You can easily save battery by rooting your phone.
Underclocking the CPU is the best way to improve battery life of android. CPU of the smartphone also consumes battery power according to its speed or frequency. If CPU runs on higher frequency, it will consume more battery.
Removing unwanted apps:
Some of the apps are preinstalled in the system and cannot be removed or is not uninstalled. After rooting you gain access to remove such kind of apps. This will save lot of battery.
But rooting your smartphone is risky. You can end up bricking your phone. Also the warrant of your smartphone gets void after rooting it. So I suggest not to use this method if not very much necessary.
Now you can easily increase battery life of android devices by applying these above tips on your device. If you follow the above method you can save lot of your battery life.
