Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that MediaTek former co-chief operating officer (COO) Zhu Shangzu officially joined millet, as Xiaomi Industry Investment Partners. Zhu Shangzu is another amazing talent introduced by Xiaomi Industry Fund following Sun Changxu and Pan Jiu Tang.

Zhu Shangzu has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in electronics from Hsinchu Jiaotong University, Taiwan. In 1999, he joined MediaTek as general manager of the Digital Consumer Electronics Business Unit and Digital Camera Chip Business Unit.
In 2010, the company set up MediaTek's Smartphone chip division and led the team to make an annual revenue of 4 billion U.S. dollars from scratch, contributing to making MediaTek the world's second-largest supplier of smart phone chips.
Xiaomi launched their in-house processor "Surge S1" last year in their hometown China, which was a mid-range chipset. Now with Zhu Shangzu joining Xiaomi, there might be chances for more advanced processors in near future.
