“The Canvas Infinity Pro features Snapdragon 430 SoC and 4GB RAM”
Micromax joined the club of bezel-free smartphone manufacturers by launching the affordable Canvas Infinity (review) in September. The successor of this smartphone surfaced recently, labelled the Canvas Infinity Pro as seen on the leaked retail box. Now, the Indian brand has gone ahead and launched the smartphone in the country. The specs that were revealed seem to be legit, as the USP of the new handset are indeed the dual selfie cameras and 18:9 display.
The Canvas Infinity Pro comes with a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels and 450 nits brightness. Being a mid-range device, the handset comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, which is an octa-core processor mated to 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of storage onboard, which can be further expanded upto 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android Nougat out of the box and features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Moving to the USP of the device, the smartphone comes with 20MP + 8MP dual selfie cameras, which are accompanied by a soft flash for enhanced low-light selfies. The rear panel of the handset is home to a single camera module with a resolution of 16MP. The handset maker has also equipped the cameras with a portrait mode and face beauty mode. There is also an auto scene detection mode, which analyses the ambient scenario and selects the best possible settings. There is a 3,000mAh battery under the rear panel powering the show.
Commenting on the launch, Shubhodhip Pal, Chief Operating Officer, Micromax Informatics said “We understand that in the mid- premium range smartphones, consumers demand a complete package – a smartphone that has best in class cameras, screen that is large enough for content viewing, battery that doesn’t drain in a day and off course aesthetics that are head turner. We truly believe that Infinity Pro is that package and our consumers will be delighted with the pricing as well. We are known to bring revolutionary products within the range of millions of Indians and this is another step in that direction.
Micromax has announced that the handset will go on sale starting midnight on December 6th and will be exclusive to Flipkart. Those who are interested in picking one up, will have to shell out Rs 13,999.
