Finally, the newest addition to the Redmi Note Series has arrived. Redmi Note 5 has been launched on Feb 14th, the Valentines Day. Currently, there are a lot of smartphones with 18:9 display ratio, this trend is the epidemic and the most recent is the RN5, the size of the phone screen is 5.99 inch which is very suitable for browsing, watching movies or playing games. And it is also not too expensive at all. Not only the screen size is large, but the specifications Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is also promising, especially for game lovers, in addition to a large screen it is also supported by a reliable and powerful Snapdragon 625 processor. The 18:9 trend is followed in Redmi Note 5. The 5.99 inch(15.2cm) full-screen display has a resolution of Full HD Plus (2160*1080), 403 PPI. Similar to the RN5 PRO, RN5 has 2.5D glass covering the display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
The corners are rounded which makes the device more premium looking. Screen looks very wide and leaving only a very thin bezel. The display is bright, with crisp details and colors. It performs great while watching videos or playing games. Undoubtedly, this is the best display ever in a Redmi Note series.
On the head, we have the proximity sensor, 5MP front-facing camera along with LED flash.
Since it has 18:9 display, the chin size is comparatively reduced when compared to all previous Redmi Devices. The capacitive buttons have been removed and on-screen buttons have been added to support the 18:9 ratio.
On top, we have a 3.5mm headphone jack along with a noise cancellation microphone and IR Blaster for controlling electronic equipment.
On the bottom, there is a micro USB port, microphone, and Speaker grill.
On the right, we have the power button and volume rockers.
On the left, we have the hybrid SIM card tray. The hybrid SIM tray can allocate 2 SIM's or 1 SIM and 1 SD card at a time.
The rear side consists of the 12MP camera with Dual Tone LED flash and a fingerprint scanner.
The back panel has a very good finish and is not a fingerprint magnet like the Redmi Note 4. The Note 5's edges give the phone a premium feel in the hand.
The device runs on MIUI9 based on Android Nougat 7.1.2 out of the box.
