Hi, Mi Fans
The newest addition to Xiaomi India's product range - Mi LED Smart TVs have already made buzz in the market and given the price there is absolutely no competition. The Mi TVs which available in India are Mi Smart LED TV 4 (55") and Mi Smart LED TV 4A (32 & 42"). Both of them are LED TV and are fully equipped with features. Recently, we have been asked a question - what's the difference between LED TV and LCD TV? and the answer is just too simple.
There is no big difference!Yes, you heard it right.
An LED TV is in-fact an LCD TV. Ever wondered what LED stands for? LED stands for 'LED-backlit LCD TV' and since it is too long to say in a go, we all generally refer them as LED TVs. Technically speaking, Both type of TV make use of a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel to control where light is displayed on the screen.
You must be wondering what is the difference since both types use a LCD panel. The answer is - there was a difference which no longer exists. The difference is older LCD TVs used cold cathode fluorscent lamps (CCFLs) to backlight the screen, whereas LED TVs uses an arrangement of more efficient light emitting diodes (LEDs) to illuminate the screen. Nowadays all LCD TVs use LED lights which are way more efficient.
