Hey Mi Fans,

But in the times of technological advancement, we at Mi Community have all your back. As usual, we are here with the compilation of some awesome Tech threads week. What Is MU-MIMO And Why Do You Need It In Your Home Network? - Explained!
By Sam_crazy

I'm Back with one more interesting tech topic. Today' we're gonna talk about one technology, which you might have seen in your laptop specifications, mentioned in list. It's called MU-MIMO. It stands for Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output. If that seems overwhelmingly complex, don’t worry. The concept is much simpler than it sounds, and the benefits are well worth knowing. This Technology has been around for a few years in academic and research settings. But it wasn't until CES 2015 that popular home wireless router makers, including Asus and Belkin, committed to supporting it with their devices.

If your current wireless router is more than two years old, you may want to consider shopping for a replacement — but not just any replacement. These days, if you’re going to purchase a new router, it really ought to support MU-MIMO technology for maximum wireless performance. This may not seem that big a deal if you regularly use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, but think beyond your PC. Smartphones, tablets, Kindles, cameras, baby monitors, and so many other devices only support Wi-Fi. And with so many devices connected to Wi-Fi, MU-MIMO becomes even more important. Let's dig into depper.

All You Need To Know About Laptop Batteries!
By Sam_crazy

Friends, many of us have the laptop and chances are that you are reading thread in your laptop. And many of us spend a lot of time on go and the laptop in the vital part of anyone's travelling kit. We even squeez the last ounce of power from the laptop battery until it shuts down itself. From the many problem we face laptop, most of the issues are of batteries. After a year or two , mosty we need to change batteries if we are even normal users. So we always think what to so that my batteries would last longer, how can I protect it from damages and should I remove batteries when I don't use it? Let's get the answers in this thread.

How Does A Laptop Battery Work?

Before we consider whether removing your battery is the best option, let’s consider exactly how your laptop battery works.

There are two main types of laptop battery: lithium-ion, and lithium-polymer. Nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride laptop batteries have all-but been phased out by this point, replaced by their more reliable and efficient lithium cell counterparts. Lithium-ion and lithium-polymer function very similarly, despite being technological differences. They both have different strong points and weaknesses, too.

For instance, a lithium-ion battery will generally have a higher power density but suffers from compound degradation (the liquids inside the battery). Conversely, a lithium-polymer battery is more robust but generally stores less power.

Android Platform Distribution For April 2018: Close To 5% Share For Oreo!
By iamlalitjangid

Hello, Mi Fans After skipping last month, Google has now released the latest statistics for the distribution of Android versions across all devices that have Google Play Services installed. This information is based on data collected over a 7 day period ending today, April 16th, and it’s the most accurate information we have regarding the distribution of Android devices with particular versions of the Android OS.

The updated statistics show that Android Oreo (Android 8.0 and Android 8.1) has seen a significant bump from 1.1% in February 2018 to 4.6% in April 2018. Meanwhile, Android Nougat is still king as the 7.X release is installed on approximately 30.8% of all devices.

For the record, here’s how the numbers compared to February (2 months ago):

For April, Google shows that Oreo (both 8.0 and 8.1 combined) have reached 4.6% of the Android pie, which is up from the 1.1% back in February. See, massive. For other versions, we’ve got Nougat at 30.8%, Marshmallow at 26.0%, Lollipop at 22.9%, KitKat at 10.5%, Jelly Bean at 4.5%, Ice Cream Sandwich at 0.4%, and Gingerbread still hanging on at 0.3%.

Vion: The World's Smartest Bluetooth Multimeter!
By Sam_crazy

Most of the meters in market you find are difficult top use, bulky and they are unable to keep track of data. With more and more products in our home and in our office everyday requiring power, most of us don't know much about electricity to diagnose or fix the problem. This is why Vion was born, bringing to you the first smart multimeter that makes it easy to diagnose and fix electrical problems. Basically, a multimeter is a device that is used to measure voltage, current and resistance. They are used everywhere, from professional electronics to DIY enthusiasts. And to be fair, there hasn’t been much of an innovation there in the past decade. But now is not the case as California based company called Allectrics INC has recently introduced an all new smart multimeter called Vion! Let's know more about it!

Summary:

  • Vion is the worlds smartest multimeter that is designed to be paired with a smartphone. As in there is the Vion multimeter doesn’t come with a panel. Instead it consists of probes that have a built in support for bluetooth. Which also makes Vion easy to carry around. The probe meters come in an excellent size. They are obviously thicker than what you’d normally see.
  • Besides all the clever tech that enables the smart features, they also have a built-in battery that can be used for 7 hours. It can be charged with a USB cable and the charging time is 30 minutes. There are also LED indicators that display what you are measuring.
  • In order to use the Vion multimeter, you first need to pair it with your smartphone. Which means downloading the Vion App. It’s available for both Android and iOS devices. Once that’s done, you can start using the probes to measure what you want.
  • It has an automatic detection/diagnosis built-in so you don’t really need to configure any settings etc. All of the data is displayed and saved onto your smartphone. Which is extremely convenient.

MousePad+: The World’s First Portable MousePad Which Is Also A Wireless Charger!
By Sam_crazy

Friends, When working on a desktop computer day in day out, chances are you’ve settled for a less than exciting, not to mention decidedly useless, mouse pad that you probably got free at some corporate event. Traditionally mouse pads have served one function – provide a slick and even surface for the mouse to slide on. But modern mouse pads are a lot less boring than that. Let me introduce to MousePad+. Like the name indicates, the accessory provides a surface for your mouse to slide on, but also doubles as a wireless charging pad for your smartphone. So if you own a Smartphone which supports wireless chargint then all you have to do is place your phone on top of the MousePad+ and it will start charging. Amazing , isn't it? Let's look into details.

Summary:

  • The MousePad+ is made of two parts: the wireless charging one is covered in brown/black or blue leather, while the mouse pad portion is made from wool fiber. You can plug the mouse directly into your mouse or PC.
  • The MousePad+ features Qi wireless charging technology and supports 7.5W high speed wireless charging.
  • When you are going out, business travel, in the Café, just unplug and fold the MousePad+, and take it with you anywhere you need for your mouse and mobile devices. MousePad+ uses the latest fast chipset, compatible with Qi charging standard, QC 2.0 fast charge support, Inadvertently completing the charging process.
  • Adding a touch of class to proceedings and delivering the capacity to keep your smartphone charged is something that is sure to appeal to the tech obsessed creative out there.
